Frontier Airlines Fare Sale + New Routes to Orlando

frontier airlines

Frontier Airlines announced new routes to Orlando this week expanding their to Orlando from St.Louis, Milwaukee, Chicago O’Hare, and Atlanta. To celebrate these new routes to Orlando they’re also running a fare sale with the Atlanta – Orlando fare going for as little as $39 one way. Frontier airlines is a super low cost carrier similar to Spirit Airlines meaning

that their fares will be low but keep an eye out for surprise fees.

The new route details are as follows:

While these airfares may be low just a warning that Frontier charges for carry on baggage ($25) per bag each way so a family of 4 can easily add an extra $200 in baggage fees in addition to the base fares making it less of a good deal. You can see the full list of “optional” fees on their fees page.

I took a quick look through some of the new city pairs to see if the advertised fares were actually available. Surprisingly there were many dates wide open for the promotional fares, generally for dates in the middle of the week.

Chicago - Orlando

Chicago – Orlando

Most Thursdays and Fridays have the promotional fares available from Chicago O’Hare to Orlando in February.

Milwaukee - Orlando

Milwaukee – Orlando

Hopefully you’re able to fly on a Wednesday or Friday if you’re coming to Orlando from Milwaukee. Look at some of those other prices – $649 one way at the beginning of the month – outrageous!

Overall this is a mildly good deal if you can make the dates work and keep the fees down to a minimum. Having more options to fly from cities helps to drive prices down so this should be a good thing for consumers.
