Orbitz is currently running a great promotional code that will save you 25%+ on selected Disney area hotels, including on-site Disney resorts. Some of the rates being seen on Orbitz are even better than the rates being shown with Disney’s 30% off Spring promotion that is currently running.
How Good is the Deal?
To see if this is a good deal I’ll try to book a room using the Orbitz promo code and compare it to Disney’s current 30% off Spring offer. I’ll choose dates in early May which is when the crowds begin to pick up.
I’ll choose May 9th – 13th in Orbitz, select Walt Disney World as the location and input the promo code DISCOVER.
You’ll see the full list of resorts that are in the area – we want to make sure that you select a hotel that says Promo Eligible to make sure that we get the discount. One of my favorite Disney resorts is the Coronado Springs Resort so I’ll chose that for my early May vacation.
The total original rate for this season would be $154/night but with this promo that comes down to $123/night for a savings of $31 a night – not bad.
Add in all of the taxes and fees we come to a total of $576.46 for a total savings of $123!
Now let’s compare that rate to Disney current 30% off spring offer. I’m going to select the same dates as well as the Coronado Springs so we can compare apples to apples here.
Looking at Disney’s final price with taxes/fees included the total comes to $693.58 or $117.12 more than the Orbitz rate! Even with the 30% off the rate that Disney is taking the 30% off of is much higher which causes the overall price to be higher.
Don’t forget to also apply for Orbitz rewards which will get you cash back of $17.29 that can be used on a future Orbitz booking. With this promo and Orbitz Rewards you could save yourself a total of $134.41 when comparing to Disney’s discounted rates – a nice savings for a great resort on property.
You still get all of the perks & benefits of staying on-site (Magical Express, Extra Magic hours ect..) even if you book with Orbitz so this is a no-brainer to go through them for your room only.
