Orbitz is one of my favorite third party websites to find great deals on hotels. As an added benefit Orbitz also has Disney’s on-site resorts on their site in addition to many of the off-site resorts. Over the past week they have been releasing a series of 15% off coupons which are good for most hotels you can book on their site (including Disney Resorts).
Another aspect of Orbitz I enjoy is their rewards program called Orbitz Rewards which awards you with cash back you can use for bookings on the site. When you sign up for rewards and book, you can earn 3% back if you book on the desktop website or 5% if you book through their mobile app.
You can then take those Orbitz rewards dollars and apply them to a future booking, each point is worth $1. For example, if you book a hotel that costs $500 through the website, you’ll earn $15 to apply to your next booking – pretty nice perk.
I took a look at a few dates using the coupon code FUNFUNFUN which is the current 15% off coupon code. It seems to change from time to time so I would check back on Retail Me Not to grab the latest coupon code.
I found the Port Orleans Resort available for 4 nights in May that allowed the 15% off coupon code. The total savings after applying the coupon was $130 – a great savings!
Saving $130 with the 15% off coupon
In addition to saving $130, if I were to use my Orbitz Rewards for this booking as well I could earn up to 5% cash back for a total of $42.50 in rewards. If I add up my $130 from the 15% off coupon plus the $42.50 from the cash back my total savings will be $172.50!
How to Use the Coupon Code
To apply the coupon code, you’ll choose your hotel, pick a room then come up to the checkout screen. The area to enter the coupon isn’t in the most obvious place, you’ll want to look in the payments section and click on “Enter a coupon code or promotion code”
After you apply the coupon you’ll see a confirmation and the dollar amount that you have saved off of you reservation. If you try a coupon code and it doesn’t work, try another code or check the terms of the resort/rate as some may not be eligible for the coupon.
